WORLD HEALTH DAY  7th April. 2012
Some 14,000 women die every year in Pakistan in childbirth and many more develop life-long pregnancy-related disabilities. Rural women's health is generally poor due to the lack of health facilities. skilled health providers and limited decision making power with regard to child bearing and usage of health products.
It is estimated that 400,000 infants die in Pakistan within a year of birth. Harnessing the power of women in the country is essential for social and economic development. Women invest nearly all they earn back into their families and in educating and nourishing their children.
At Greenstar Social Marketing, we are committed to helping women make a difference by ensuring that they have access to health products, services and information, particularly in the areas of family planning and reproductive health. Greenstar has over 7,000 franchised female service providers throughout the country, who provide women and children out-patient services as well as contraception and counseling at minimal costs, or even free of charge.
We believe that by protecting the health and well-being of the most vulnerable sectors of the population, we are protecting the future of the nation.
