Ph.D Foreign Scholarships
Applications are invited from Pakistani Nationals for Ph.D Studies, in technologically advanced countries, in the following Disciplines, under the HEC funded Project "Development of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Campus".
1) Computer Science
2) Forestry
3) Mgt. Studies
4) Education
5) Law
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Minimum Eighteen years of education in the relevant field. However, candidates, having 11class L.L.B are eligible to a pply for Ph.D in Law. Preference shall be given to candidates having LLM. Eighteen years education shall be relax able in favor of sixteen years of education in case of non availability of candidates, having eighteen years education.
2. First division/equivalent CGPA in the last Degree as per requirement.
3. The candidate must have qualified GRE/GAT conducted by NTS with minimum 50% score or GRE (International) conducted by ETS.
4. No 3' Division/Grade-Din the entire academic career is allowed.
5. Maximum age limit is 35 years and relaxable up to 40 years only for the regular employees of the Public Sector Universities /DAls and R&D organization. The age will be calculated on the closing date of the application.
6. Candidates, already availing HEC, Universities /DAI, Departmental or any other scholarship(s) are not eligible to apply.
7. Awardees will serve Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Sheringal, for at least 5 years, I after completion oftheir Ph.D studies.
8. Candidates, working in Government/Semi-Government/autonomous organizations should apply through proper channel.
Selection Procedure:
1. Only shortlisted candidates shall be called for interview. No TA/DA is admissible.
2. Interview shall be conducted by the University Selection Board.
3. Selected candidates, other than faculty members of Sha heed BB University, Sheringal, will be offered faculty positions which they shall join with in the required time.
4. Visa arrangements will be the responsibility of the selected candidates.
5. The successful candidates shall have to submit a bond of service at Shaheed BB University,
Sheringal for a minimum period of five years, after completion of their Ph.D studies.
Last date for the submission of applications:
1. Application forms, complete in all respects, should reach the office of the Registrar till 22.02.2012.
2. Application form can be obtained from HBL Sheringal on cash payment of Rs.1000/- (form fee). The form can also be downloaded from the University website www.sbbu.edu.pk and submitt along with a Bank draft/Pay slip/pay order of Rs.1000/- in favor of Shaheed BB University from any branch of HBL.
3. Incomplete and late application forms shall not be entertained.
4. The University reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of seats or cancel them with out showing any reason.
